　　Xin'an is a Dai township at the southernmost end of Huili, facing Wuding, Yunnan across the Jinsha River. It is also the only Dai Township in Sichuan. Most of their ancestors moved from Jingdong, Yunnan at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty. After the Qing Dynasty, Dai people across Yunnan successively crossed the Jinsha River and moved to Huili because of avoiding disasters and losing land, forming today's famous hometown of singing and dancing. There are many scenic spots in the territory, such as Daheishan natural giant stone Buddha, alpine waterfall, alkali River mysterious cave, ancient battlefield site, Neolithic tomb, Chu hanging coffin and so on. But the most distinctive local style is the unique Dai style. Every year during the Dai new year, Xin'an township will hold a grand Dai township water sprinkling Festival. People gathered from all directions, singing and dancing, enjoying themselves, pouring wine on each other, symbolizing auspicious and happy water. The water sprinkling Festival is an important festival handed down from generation to generation by the Dai people in Xin'an. It also expresses their original intention of loving their hometown, remembering their ancestors and not forgetting their national traditions. In addition, Xin'an is located in the dry and hot valley of Jinsha River with superior light and heat conditions. It is rich in tropical fruits and early maturing vegetables such as mango, sweet horn and papaya. It is a good place to enjoy the warmth of the sun in winter.
